|Parents Committee for Athletics|
I hope you are enjoying a relaxing and peaceful summer.
Allow me to welcome you to Fair Lawn High School as we look ahead to the start of a new school year. Right now many of our athletes and coaches are already busy preparing for their upcoming seasons. So, it is only fitting that I invite parents to get involved at Fair Lawn High School too. It is through parental support, that the Athletics Committee is able to provide FLHS athletes with resources that help to further develop and strengthen their skills in a safe and enriching environment.
Our mission is to support all Fair Lawn High School Cutter athletes and sports programs offered at our school. We work directly with Mr. Robinson, the Athletic Director, and Principal, Mr. Marcella, and the coaches. They suggest resources that are necessary to best insure the success and safety of all of our athletic programs. Parental input is highly sought after and valued as well. Please come share your ideas and suggestions to help continue our mission while meeting new people along the way.
The Athletic meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 7pm in Room B103 at the High School. The dates are: *Sept. 21, Oct. 18, Nov. 15, Dec. 20, Jan. 17, *Feb. 28, Mar.20, Apr. 17, May 15 and *June 12 (* denotes a date change).
You should know, it is the Athletics Committee that has provided our athletes with weight room equipment, scorer's tables, custom team chairs, defibrillators, championship banners, the Cutter mascot, player's benches at Sasso Field and numerous college scholarships over the years. This Committee also purchased the golf cart that Jason, our Athletic Trainer, uses to quickly get to our injured athletes. With your assistance, we will continue to contribute in a worthwhile manner to our athletes' experience at Fair Lawn High School.
Athletics sponsors several fundraising events throughout the course of the school year. Parent and student volunteers are needed to sell refreshments at the Cutter Hut at Sasso Field and Mini Cutter Huts in the high school during various sporting events. An hour or two of your time is all that is needed to assist. Additionally, adult fundraisers this year will be a "Halloween Cocktail Party" in October and "Ladies Night Out Bingo" in January, to name a few.
I wish your child a safe and successful season. See you at the meeting on Wednesday, September 21 at 7pm.
